About the role

PetroCONNECT is looking for an dynamic and professional ETQA Officer in the KZN and Gauteng area to facilitate a continuous relationship between learner; assessor and moderators; provider and ETQA with SETA , ensuring that relevant, nationally benchmarked education is provided. The ETQA Officer will promote the registration and implementation of high-quality learning programmes including learnerships, skills programmes, internships and bursaries, and associated standards and qualifications. This includes but is not limited to:

Responsibilities

Learnership Administration Support

  • Assist with registration of learnership agreements between learners, employers, and training providers.
  • Capture learner details into the SETA Management Information System (MIS) or NLRD.
  • Maintain accurate records of learnerships, including enrolments, completions, terminations, and assessments.

Provider and Programme Accreditation Support

  • Help track accredited training providers and verify their scope of accreditation.
  • Assist with processing applications for programme approval and provider extensions of scope.
  • Prepare documentation and assist during site audits and compliance visits.

Quality Assurance & Monitoring

  • Help monitor the implementation of learnerships to ensure alignment with the QCTO/SAQA standards.
  • Assist in preparing for external moderation and verification of assessments.
  • Compile and organise evidence for quality audits and reports.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Communicate with training providers, employers, and learners to ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate induction sessions, feedback sessions, and site visits.
  • Handle general enquiries and support providers in understanding ETQA requirements.

Reporting and Data Management

  • Assist in compiling reports on learnership implementation, completion rates, and learner achievements.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate learner records, including statements of results and certificates.
  • Support with tracking deadlines for assessments, verifications, and certification submissions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Training environment
  • NQF Level 5+ qualification in Education, Training, or Administration
  • Basic Project Management or Office Administration training will be advantageous
  • ETDP SETA accredited courses, (Assessor Training (Unit Standard 115753); Moderator Training (Unit Standard 115759); Skills Development Facilitator Training)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and MIS, LMIS, or similar systems
  • Understanding of learnership regulations (e.g., Skills Development Act, SDA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SAQA, QCTO, and NQF frameworks

Basic knowledge of ETQA and SETA processes, such as:

  • Programme Accreditation
  • Learner Registration and Certification
  • Moderation and Verification
